They exceeded every expectation. Senior care is truly their calling.

This is a follow up to my February 2023 review. My mother lived at Anthem Senior Manor for the last 14 months until her passing this month. I can only give an emotional and heart felt thank you to Sam and his staff for taking such loving care of mom. They exceeded every expectation. Senior care is truly their calling.

Long story short… We offer the highest marks to Anthem Senior Manor:

We needed Dad to be closer to us than the 13 hour drive to CA would allow, especially when his health suddenly took a turn. But where to find a lovely home environment with care givers who would genuinely embrace our loved one with patience, thoughtful encouragement, tasty meals and reliable assistance on a daily basis?
Fortuitously enough my husband heard of Anthem Senior Manor several months ago and after speaking with Sam about our Dad’s then current health status, toured the residence twice in a day, and realized that ASM would be ideal for our circumstance. But how to implement this momentous decision?
During the ensuing two weeks, Sam got to know more about our loved one and his status, and then skillfully walked us through our worries and endless questions. He put us in touch with a talented support team that would arrange for and manage Medical Transport. Additionally, Sam introduced us to the professionals in Palliative and Hospice care who would direct Dad’s medical needs going forward. Within a week we knew there was plan that could make Dad’s move from hospital bed in CA to his new room and home in AZ happen very quickly… like overnight, literally!
Yippee!! Prayers being answered: Dad would be all the more comfortable and compassionately attended to on a daily basis. And Bonus for us: Anthem Senior Manor was just 30 minutes from our home!! Feeling blessed!!
Sam truly was a God sent at a time when our family was swimming in worry and indecision to present a viable and thoughtful plan for Dad. Thanks to him, we were able to confidently make this loving decision for Dad.
The “grand adventure” took place without a hitch or a worry overnight between March 31 and April 1. Now fast forward to Dad’s arrival at the Manor. We were thrilled when Dad rolled into the grand room looking all fresh and dapper. He had arrived an hour before us – greeted by staff, handed a cup of decaf, fed a favorite breakfast, showered shaved groomed and dressed, and presented to us anew !! After a brief tour of his new home, (loved the putting green), he was lifted by two people into a cushy recliner in front of a large TV !! And we both teared up!! Our Dad hadn’t be seated in a chair since his first stroke at the end of July 2023 !! Wow !!
Thank you all for your kindness and playfulness with your newly arrived Cowboy resident! Carlos, Tracey and the rest of the team, we are so grateful!!
And special thanks to Sam and Tracey for your inquisitiveness and genuine thoughtfulness during those first hours… helping us unpack Dad’s things and offering to hang photos for us. We enjoyed sharing stories about Dad’s “life well lived” and putting names to faces from family photos. [A very clever way to get to know more about their newest resident, Sam and Tracey !! 😉
While driving home, we sighed a few times and reassured each other that our loved one deserved to be in this great place. We arrived home relaxed and confident Dad will thrive in the care of this lovely community at Anthem Senior Manor.
Long story short… We offer the highest marks to Anthem Senior Manor:
Our family and the Cowboy’s friends in Cathey’s Valley bestow handfuls of feathers to fluff all y’all’s beautiful angel wings!
A thousand thank you’s, Ally and Brad Lozares
PS. We truly enjoy ASM’s wheelchair access van !! Dad is thrilled to know it’s possible to come back at our home for a favorite meal, a visit with friends or family members when they come to Scottsdale !!

My mom tells me all the time that the staff is so good to her and the food is fantastic that she feels like she is living in a resort.

Unfortunately my father spent over 5 years in assisted living homes so I have seen some good ones and some not so good ones. Please take it from me that THE ONLY place I would ever consider my parents (or God forbid me if the time came) staying in would Anthem Senior Manor. Tracey and Sam are so wonderful to work with and they truly care. My mom tells me all the time that the staff is so good to her and the food is fantastic that she feels like she is living in a resort. I cannot recommend them enough and we are blessed to have found them.

I tell people… My Mom was in a good assisted living situation, my wife is in a great one!

My wife has been at Senior Sanctuary of Anthem for almost 5 months. I was caregiver for over 2 years but it became too much for me to handle so the family started looking for an assisted living arrangement. My mother had spent 4 years in a good assisted living facility, so I thought I knew what to look for. After finding several good options, we came across Senior Sanctuary of Anthem and upon visiting we were amazed we were with what we saw! There was nothing institutional looking about it. It is a beautiful house inside and out. We moved her in as soon as possible to see what we thought. Now after having her there and visiting almost everyday for these 5 months I feel I can leave an informed review. I can’t imagine a better situation for my wife. The owner, Sam, sets a high standard for himself, his staff and the house. He is involved in running the home and has no stockholders to please. The only people he has to please are the residents, their families and his staff. The home is well taken care of inside and out. The back yard is almost like a park where families can take their loved one outside to talk and breathe fresh air. The staff, honestly, is amazing! And the house is well staffed with competent, caring people. They fix real meals, the cooks are great! A very caring and competent nurse is often at the house. When she isn’t there she is only minutes away at one of Sam’s two other homes in the neighborhood. There is a house Doc who regularly checks up on the people staying there. I never worry about my wife getting her meds because there is a meds supervisor who distributes the meds or supervises the people who distribute the meds. Every staff member there is my favorite! When my wife presses her “button”, someone is at her room within a minute, usually less. They are all people who I think really love the residents they work with! I could go on for pages about how wonderful the home and all of the people giving care there are. My wife would rather be at home with me, but she realizes that isn’t possible and told me, “If I can’t be at home I can’t think of a better place for me to be.” I tell people, “My Mom was in a good assisted living situation, my wife is in a great one!” at Senior Sanctuary of Anthem.

It’s impossible to find the right words to properly express our gratitude other than our heartfelt THANKS for caring for someone that we deeply loved.

June 21, 2023
Dear Sam:
On Saturday, June 17, 2023, our sister/niece returned to her Heavenly Home to be reunited with her father, mother, and other loved ones in God’s kingdom. She was so very loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all of us. However, we are comforted that she will be at peace surrounded by Love and Goodness.
During her last days on this earth, she was critically ill and she was aware that her time with us was limited. Nevertheless, she maintained a sense of optimism and humor. Her family attempted to provide an environment that ensured personal care, cleanliness, and a degree of cheerfulness. We were “Blessed” to find these qualities in the staff at Anthem Senior Manor.
We are particularly grateful to you and the members of your staff for all your efforts in providing Kristy with a comfortable and caring environment during her time at Anthem. You were always gracious to visiting family members, responsive to Kristy’s needs, and accomplished these tasks in a loving way. It’s impossible to find the right words to properly express our gratitude other than our heartfelt THANKS for caring for someone that we deeply loved.

Anthem Senior Homes sets a high standard for the industry.

Sam recently assisted us with a family that was looking to relocate their loved one from out of state. Their thoroughness and professionalism ensured a safe and seamless transition for the family. I’ve seen and worked with hundreds of care homes over the past few years and from my vantage point Anthem Senior Homes sets a high standard for the industry. For example, It’s rare to see a robust activities program in many residential care settings, but Anthem Senior Homes conducts them daily, even bringing in live music on a regular basis. The homes are beautiful and the staffing ratios are above industry standard which allows them to provide a high level of care with rapid response times when urgent needs arise. Sam, you are great to work with, thank you for all that you and your staff are doing for the families and their loved ones within your communities. I look forward to working with you again in the future.
